Overview
The General Manager at KidStrong acts as the primary leader and cultural ambassador for the center, dedicated to fostering learning and development both for coaches and family members. This role demands a personable and dynamic leader committed to setting clear objectives, enhancing the experience of children, families, and staff, developing coaching talent, maintaining strong member connections, and driving business results such as sales and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze center KPIs and financial figures to guide sound decision-making.
- Develop and sustain positive relationships with families aligned to company values and ensure exceptional customer interactions.
- Oversee center initiatives including maintenance, staff training, and brand consistency.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance, delegating tasks effectively among team members.
- Handle employee-related issues and maintain necessary documentation.
- Work a schedule typically consisting of four weekdays and one weekend shift, adjusted based on center needs.
- Organize and communicate coaching schedules using relevant platforms.
- Plan and market center events such as camps and parties to enhance profitability.
- Lead flawless lead management, including conducting call drives with new and existing leads via the CRM system.
- Take responsibility for sales activities and delegate related duties such as trial conversions and event bookings.
- Complete and close sales generated from online sign-ups.
- Represent the center at local events to expand brand visibility and increase memberships.
- Champion a coaching culture with ongoing assessments guided by KidStrong Coach DNA and class quality standards.
- Recruit, screen, onboard, train, and evaluate coaching staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support professional growth through company learning platforms and facilitate staff meetings focused on development and productivity.
- Maintain professional communication internally and attend weekly leadership meetings.
- Deliver coaching for children aged approximately walking to 11 years, emphasizing brain, physical, and character development in line with evolving curriculum needs.
- Engage positively with families and students throughout the class experience.
- Understand and communicate the rationale behind the KidStrong curriculum effectively.
- Manage various curriculum elements and utilize software tools for attendance and awards tracking.
- Physically capable of handling a demanding environment including moving equipment up to 25 pounds and covering significant distances during shifts.
- Preside over monthly staff meetings concentrating on culture, development, and performance.
- Coach approximately 3-5 hours each week.
Qualifications
- Background in athletics or coaching with a passion for working with children aged 15 months to 11 years.
- Completion of Coach Certification and training programs, including LearnUpon, as required.
- Confidence in communicating with parents/guardians regarding various matters.
- Management experience is essential; prior pediatric OT/PT background is an advantage but optional.
- Proficiency with Google and Microsoft software suites; familiarity with platforms like ZenPlanner, LearnUpon, CareerPlug, ADP, and FranConnect is preferred.
- Intermediate understanding of physiology, exercise science, and body mechanics.
- Must hold valid CPR certification.

The franchise is independently owned and operated; all hiring decisions are managed locally. Applicants will engage directly with the franchise operator.
