Junior Safety Officer

Job Overview

The Junior Safety Officer will support the execution and supervision of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols across the construction projects in the UAE. This role involves ensuring adherence to both company policies and local safety regulations while fostering a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation and monitoring of HSE policies and procedures on project sites.
• Ensure compliance with organizational HSE standards and UAE safety laws.
• Perform daily safety inspections on site, identifying and reporting unsafe behaviors or conditions.
• Oversee safety aspects of piling, excavation, lifting, and heavy machinery operations.
• Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, and educational awareness sessions for staff.
• Support investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses and assist in corrective action follow-up.
• Monitor and enforce Permit to Work (PTW) protocols and safe working methods.
• Ensure adherence to risk assessments and method statements by all workers.
• Help maintain HSE documentation, inspection logs, and statutory compliance reports.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and assist in emergency response readiness.
• Supervise subcontractor HSE performance and report any non-compliance issues.
• Encourage and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline.
• One to two years of experience in HSE or safety roles, preferably within construction or similar projects.
• Certification such as NEBOSH IGC or IOSH is advantageous.
• Familiarity with UAE HSE regulations and construction safety standards.
• Strong communication abilities and effective reporting skills.
• Readiness to work on construction or project sites.
