Junior Data Scientist

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner company affiliated with Haystack. The Junior Data Scientist position involves analyzing consumer purchase behavior and segmenting customers by employing statistical techniques and visualization tools. The role also requires assessing operational efficiency by consolidating data from multiple systems to uncover weaknesses and suggest optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze consumer purchasing patterns to define customer segments using statistical analysis and visual data representation.
• Integrate data across systems to evaluate operational performance, identifying inefficiencies and recommending enhancements.
• Perform targeted analyses to evaluate the impact of short-term initiatives and collaborate with teams across functions.
• Support the creation of automated reporting systems for essential performance metrics spanning various venues.
• Contribute to building scalable data pipelines with Python, R, and SQL to facilitate easier data access.
• Assist in developing AI-driven applications and workflows aimed at task automation and providing decision-support recommendations.

Candidate Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or closely related discipline; equivalent practical experience considered.
• Between 1 to 3 years in analytics or a data science capacity.
• Competent in data manipulation and transformation using Python or R.
• Familiar with SQL querying for data analysis purposes.
• Understanding of end-to-end data science processes including data cleaning, feature engineering, and predictive modeling.
• Strong foundational knowledge of statistics, experimental design, and core concepts in data science.
• Effective communication skills to clearly present analytical outcomes to a variety of stakeholders.
