IT Governance Officer

Overview

This role serves as the central IT liaison tasked with executing and maintaining cybersecurity mandates within the IT division of the organization.

Core Duties

• Develop, uphold, and advance the IT Governance Framework utilizing standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, COBIT, and ITIL.
• Manage IT policies, procedures, standards, and controls, ensuring alignment with cyber security and international compliance benchmarks.
• Implement and monitor ITIL frameworks including change, incident, problem, configuration, asset, and service management processes.
• Ensure adherence to governance controls, service level agreements (SLAs), operational level agreements (OLAs), configuration parameters, operational protocols, and performance indicators.
• Govern change and incident management by ensuring appropriate assessment, authorization, documentation, resolution, review, and extraction of lessons learned.
• Maintain accurate IT asset registers and secure, version-controlled documentation including system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), architecture schematics, and disaster recovery (DR) materials.
• Manage business continuity and disaster recovery efforts in line with ISO 22301, including business impact analyses (BIAs), continuity planning, testing, and operational readiness.
• Oversee vendor compliance with contractual obligations, SLAs, and business continuity mandates.
• Coordinate internal and external ISO audits, manage audit findings and corrective actions, and ensure completion of IT-related cybersecurity and risk mitigation activities.
• Prepare governance-related dashboards and reports for senior leadership encompassing compliance, audits, SLA adherence, service maturity, risk status, and continuity preparedness.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Operations teams to integrate governance and security requirements into projects and technology implementations.
• Conduct awareness and training initiatives covering ISO standards, ITIL practices, change management, service management, and governance policies.
• Identify gaps in processes, operational risks, audit suggestions, and regulatory updates to continuously enhance IT governance structures.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5 to 8 years of professional experience within IT governance, compliance, risk management, or service management roles.
• Proven proficiency in implementing and managing ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
• Experienced in composing policies, designing processes, and handling governance documentation.
