About Gursimar Pharma
Gursimar Pharma Private Limited operates as a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Ludhiana, Punjab. The company is in the process of establishing a new WHO-GMP compliant manufacturing facility with a strong focus on quality management systems, strict process adherence, and sustainable long-term operations.
Role Purpose
This role entails setting up, maintaining, and supporting the IT infrastructure, systems, and user environment within the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. It involves hands-on management of hardware, networks, software, cybersecurity, data backups, vendor interactions, and day-to-day technical assistance. The Senior IT Executive additionally oversees IT planning, project supervision, vendor management, and contributes to IT policy formation and controls tailored for a regulated pharmaceutical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, scanners, and ancillary IT equipment.
- Manage local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, network security components such as firewalls, switches, routers, and structured cabling.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, corporate emails, and shared data repositories.
- Provide prompt technical support resolving hardware, software, network, and connectivity problems.
- Maintain comprehensive IT asset inventories, including software licenses, warranties, and user allocations.
- Coordinate implementation and support for ERP, HRMS, attendance tracking, accounting, and other business applications.
- Support security systems like CCTV, access control, biometric attendance, and intercoms in collaboration with related departments and vendors.
- Implement and monitor security measures such as antivirus software, endpoint protection, password policies, patch management, and data protection protocols.
- Establish data backup, restoration plans, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Liaise with hardware, software, internet, and infrastructure vendors to ensure satisfactory service levels.
- Prepare technical documentation including user requirements, vendor comparisons, scope statements, and procurement recommendations.
- Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, access logs, service records, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support compliance requirements involving controlled electronic records, audit trails, data integrity, and access controls specific to pharmaceutical regulations.
- Develop and implement IT policies, standard operating procedures, user manuals, and deliver fundamental cybersecurity training.
- Promptly report system outages, security breaches, unauthorized access, or significant data vulnerabilities to management.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior IT Executive
- Conduct assessments of current and anticipated IT infrastructure needs and lead major upgrades and digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, commercial offers, and technical solutions critically.
- Formulate cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Coordinate IT project requirements with various departments to ensure timely completion.
- Supervise junior IT staff and external service providers as applicable.
- Regularly review system performance metrics, risks, access permissions, and compliance readiness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or related fields.
- For IT Executive: 2-4 years of relevant hands-on experience preferred.
- For Senior IT Executive: 5-8 years of experience including autonomous management of IT infrastructure and vendor relationships.
- Experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries is advantageous.
- Professional certifications in networking, Microsoft systems, cybersecurity, or cloud administration are beneficial.
Essential Skills
- Practical expertise in computer hardware, Windows OS, and office productivity applications.
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, routing/switching, and firewall configuration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace platforms, email management, and cloud storage solutions.
- Understanding cybersecurity fundamentals including endpoint protection, data backups, and access control management.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and effectively coordinate with vendors.
- Strong documentation, communication, and analytical skills with a commitment to handling confidential data responsibly.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, CCTV infrastructure, and pharmaceutical data integrity standards preferred.
