About the Role
Our client based in Listowel, County Kerry is seeking a skilled IT Engineer to support and improve a contemporary enterprise technology environment. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, this full-time permanent position involves a hands-on technical role focused on reliable IT infrastructure maintenance, project delivery, and ongoing system enhancements across networks, cloud services, and user technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver second- and third-level support for infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, servers, and end-user devices.
- Manage and improve IT service management processes, particularly the ServiceNow platform.
- Assist in the implementation of IT infrastructure projects, office technology rollouts, and digital transformation efforts.
- Oversee enterprise networking, telephony systems, CCTV, and physical security technologies.
- Coordinate closely with managed service providers and technology vendors to ensure consistent service quality.
- Monitor system health, perform proactive maintenance, and support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
- Enhance cybersecurity by managing patches, remediating vulnerabilities, handling identity management, and securing endpoints.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or comparable practical experience.
- At least five years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical support roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft technologies, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, networking, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow platforms, managed service provider collaborations, and enterprise-level infrastructure.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, communication, and problem resolution.
- Beneficial to have industry certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, CompTIA, ITIL, as well as scripting or automation capabilities.
