About the Role

We are an international fashion distribution company that utilizes Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as our main ERP platform, fully integrated with warehouse, eCommerce, and marketplace systems. We seek a dedicated specialist focused exclusively on Business Central to support, enhance, and optimize our live BC system. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and an external development partner, concentrating solely on Business Central without juggling multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily technical support for Business Central across business entities, troubleshooting posting errors, integration issues, permissions, and data inquiries to ensure complete resolution.
• Create and maintain AL extensions adhering to Microsoft's development standards and AppSource quality best practices, emphasizing event subscribers over direct base app alterations, proper structuring, and maintainable upgrade paths.
• Collaborate with the external development partner on significant development tasks, including pull request review, testing deliverables against specifications, and enforcing strict code quality and scope controls.
• Oversee integration points such as Warehouse Management System interfaces and Shopify; identify root causes of failed messages and suggest durable fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
• Utilize AI-driven tools including AI-assisted AL coding, Business Central Copilot features, and AI agents to streamline workflows and boost productivity, demonstrating curiosity and competence in these technologies.
• Convert business needs into precise technical requirements, critically assessing requests and suggesting standard BC solutions prior to customizations.
• Maintain environment integrity by managing sandbox refreshes, extension deployments, telemetry evaluations, feature management, and preparing for major Business Central upgrades.
• Engage effectively with users across all organizational levels—from warehouse staff to executive leadership—tailoring communication appropriately.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (minimum 5 years) or equivalent NAV experience with recent BC cloud exposure, within technical or techno-functional roles.
• Demonstrable AL development proficiency in VS Code, skilled in various extension types such as tables, pages, codeunits, event subscribers, APIs, and report customization, with strong base app knowledge.
• Discipline in following Microsoft's established guidelines and community best practices, regularly engaging with Microsoft Learn resources and leading BC MVP blogs to justify design decisions.
• Solid functional understanding of BC posting engine, dimensions, posting groups, item ledger, and warehouse structures; not necessarily accounting expertise, but sufficient to manage posting groups responsibly.
• Proven experience leveraging AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to expedite development and analysis with sound judgment to validate output.
• Excellent critical thinking skills to challenge requests, anticipate overlooked edge cases, and preempt downstream issues, with a focus on solving root problems rather than merely closing tickets.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with end users, finance personnel, developers, external partners, and senior management, exhibiting patience and precision.
• A positive mindset eager for continuous learning and personal growth.
• Previous experience in retail or distribution sectors.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

Desirable Qualifications

• Familiarity with Power Platform tools (Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse) in conjunction with Business Central.
• Industry experience in fashion.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps and GIT for source control and work item tracking.
• Certifications such as Microsoft MB-800 (Business Central Functional Consultant) or AL developer credentials.
