Job description

Role Overview

This position is a full-time, onsite Human Resources Officer role situated in Abuja. It involves managing the daily human resources and administrative functions to ensure efficient personnel management and the smooth operation of the office environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer and enforce HR policies and procedures compliant with organizational standards and Nigerian labor laws.
  • Support recruitment efforts including selection processes, onboarding, orientation, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and legal labor requirements while overseeing performance management and facilitating staff development.
  • Manage employee relations by resolving conflicts, providing HR guidance to employees and management, and promoting employee engagement.
  • Develop and regularly update job descriptions and assist in reviewing HR policies.
  • Collaborate with company leaders to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and professional workplace culture.
  • Oversee general office administration such as maintaining contact directories and databases, managing business communications, coordinating calls, and following up with customers.
  • Assign and monitor distribution of customer leads and phone numbers to the marketing team, ensuring clear interdepartmental communication and timely lead management.
  • Manage office logistics including scheduling, documentation, administrative reporting, and inventory control to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid foundation in human resource management, including familiarity with daily HR operational tasks.
  • Capability to develop and implement HR policies aligned with local labor regulations and internal requirements.
  • Experience in employee relations, particularly in conflict resolution, performance support, and engagement initiatives.
  • Competence in drafting job descriptions, profiling roles, and facilitating recruitment and onboarding procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices, with preference given to candidates having on-site work experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to collaborate within diverse teams, utilize HR software, and manage competing priorities effectively.
