About the Company
Our client is developing advanced AI infrastructure designed for enterprises to build, train, and deploy cutting-edge artificial intelligence applications. As an investor-backed technology firm with rapid growth and an expanding customer base, they aim to establish a world-class team to support the next stage of their development.
About the Role
With ongoing scaling, the company seeks its first dedicated Human Resources Generalist to establish the HR function from scratch and collaborate closely with leadership to build a high-performing, employee-centric organization. This position offers a unique chance to join a fast-growing tech firm as the inaugural HR hire, featuring a highly operational, hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating processes rather than taking over established ones. You will engage directly with leadership, managing the entire employee lifecycle while developing scalable HR policies, systems, and procedures to support sustained growth. The role requires balancing strategic HR initiatives with daily operations in a startup environment, with readiness to be very hands-on.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main HR point of contact for staff and managers across the organization.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through exit procedures.
- Draft employment contracts, offer letters, and HR-related documents.
- Create and maintain HR policies, protocols, and employee handbooks.
- Collaborate with managers on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Organize onboarding programs to ensure a positive employee experience.
- Maintain employee records and administrate HRIS systems.
- Oversee employee benefits, leave programs, and general HR administration.
- Support payroll coordination by working with Finance and external service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Assist recruitment efforts alongside hiring managers as needed.
- Contribute to compensation benchmarking, performance review processes, and career development programs.
- Develop practical, scalable HR processes that align with company growth.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performance organizational culture.
Qualifications
- Between 4 to 8 years of advancing experience in HR roles such as HR Generalist, HR Manager, or HR Business Partner.

- Strong familiarity with US employment law and ensuring compliance.
- Proven ability to guide managers on employee relations and performance management issues.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Practical and commercially aware approach to resolving problems.
- Capability to operate independently and take full ownership of the HR function.
- Proficiency with HRIS software such as Rippling, BambooHR, HiBob, UKG, or Workday.
