Role Description
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role within the HR team by supporting all phases of the employee lifecycle and ensuring exceptional service to both employees and managers. Acting as the primary HR liaison for designated sites, this role collaborates closely with leadership to enhance recruitment processes, onboarding programs, employee relations, compliance adherence, HR administration, reporting, and engagement activities. Ideal candidates will be detail-focused, well-organized, thrive in dynamic environments, and maintain confidentiality while offering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment including job postings, interview scheduling, offer preparation, background checks, and onboarding coordination.
- Work alongside hiring managers to guarantee a smooth and positive hiring experience.
- Conduct new hire orientations, ensuring completion of all necessary onboarding paperwork.
- Track recruitment metrics and support workforce planning efforts.
- Serve as the go-to HR contact for employees and supervisors at assigned locations, addressing inquiries about policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, and company procedures.
- Assist with employee relations topics such as investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, and coaching, safeguarding confidentiality.
- Promote employee engagement and recognition initiatives to cultivate a positive work environment.
- Maintain comprehensive personnel files and HRIS data with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Process changes in employment status, verifications, corrective measures, and other HR documentation efficiently.
- Coordinate ongoing HR programs, including performance appraisals, probation reviews, compensation administration, benefits open enrollment, recognition programs, and annual policy acknowledgments.
- Maintain organizational charts, HR calendars, and disseminate relevant employee communications.
- Monitor HR operational workflows to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Generate analytical HR reports on recruiting, headcount, turnover, attendance, training, and performance metrics.
- Assist leadership with HR dashboards and workforce data analysis, recommending improvements based on trends.
- Coordinate employee training, development initiatives, compliance tracking, and support leadership development efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments like Payroll, Benefits, Safety, Finance, and Operations to maintain consistent HR support.
- Participate in company projects involving organizational change, acquisitions, and process enhancements.
- Manage compliance activities such as I-9 verification, E-Verify, background checks, and other hiring prerequisites.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and corporate policies and assist with internal and external audits.
- Perform periodic travel between company sites and production areas, with occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Possession of or progress toward HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR is a plus.
- At least two years of professional experience in Human Resources, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, logistics, recycling, or multi-site environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with federal and state employment regulations and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, with experience in Dayforce preferred.
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven professionalism and discretion in managing sensitive information.
- Customer-service orientation with aptitude to build relationships at all organizational levels.
- Analytical thinking, problem solving, and critical reasoning abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across departments.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Primarily office-based with regular contact in industrial settings; ability to move around production floors and travel between locations as needed.
