About the Company
Kepak is an international food business supplying major retailers and foodservice brands with high-quality meat cuts, innovative food ideas, and convenience products ready for the market. The St. Merryn site in Merthyr Tydfil operates beef and lamb processing and packing facilities, producing retail-ready cuts and packaged meat products with a focus on quality, traceability, and strong assurance standards.
Role Overview
This permanent, full-time HR Advisor position is based onsite in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, with home working available when needed. The role is suited to someone with solid HR advisory experience who wants to support a manufacturing environment where operational excellence and continuous improvement are central.
Working closely with the HR Manager and wider stakeholders, you will help deliver day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle, contribute to site HR strategy, and support employee engagement, employee relations, and improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
The role covers practical HR support across a production-led site, including employee relations casework, consultations, absence and performance matters, and broader change activity.
Additional Responsibilities and Scope
- Provide HR guidance and hands-on support across all stages of the employee lifecycle.
- Handle matters such as disciplinary and grievance cases, sickness absence, and performance management.
- Support consultation processes, including redundancy and contractual changes.
- Work with the HR Manager on site HR strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to major change programmes and strategic projects across the site and group.
- Build effective relationships with managers and employees from varied backgrounds and nationalities.
Requirements
- Experience working in a generalist HR role, ideally for several years.
- CIPD qualification preferred.
- A proactive approach focused on adding value to the business through HR.
- High levels of discretion and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
- Excellent attention to detail, including proof-reading and editing work carefully.
- Strong understanding of compliance and professional integrity.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels.
- Ability to communicate fluently in two or more languages would be an advantage.
- Strong time management, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and work independently to deadlines.
- Resilience and flexibility when priorities change, while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good workload ownership and organisational skills.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing ability.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, SharePoint, and Excel.
- Team-oriented mindset and collaborative working style.

Working Pattern
This is a 37.5-hour per week role, worked Monday to Friday. The position is primarily site based, with home working available as required.
