Role overview
Marriott International is hiring a Hostess for its Kampala property in Uganda. This is a full-time, non-management position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary area. The role is focused on creating a welcoming first impression, guiding guests into the dining area, and helping maintain smooth seating operations throughout the day.
What you will do
You will greet arriving guests, confirm party size, and seat them at clean, available tables. The job also involves arranging chairs, tables, and place settings, supporting seating for groups with special needs, and ensuring menus and table settings are tidy and ready for use. You will help guide guests through the dining spaces and assist as needed while monitoring the dining room for seat availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being.
Daily work also includes keeping the host area and nearby workspaces clean by following clean-as-you-go practices. You will follow company, safety, and security procedures, report incidents or unsafe conditions, attend required safety training, protect confidential information and company property, and maintain a professional appearance. The role requires clear communication, courteous phone etiquette, positive teamwork, and readiness to handle other duties assigned by supervisors.

This is a full-time onsite position based at Ggaba Road, P.O. Box 190771, Kampala, Uganda, 25601. The position number is 26083103. Remote work is not available for this role.
Preferred background
A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred. No related work experience is required, and no supervisory experience or license/certification is needed.
