Job description
Role Overview
Join our team as a Healthcare Assistant serving Gorey and neighboring areas to provide compassionate support to older individuals within their own residences. This position offers consistent weekly hours with familiar clients, promoting stability and a sustainable work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including washing, toileting, and dressing assistance.
- Perform light meal preparation and assist with basic household tasks.
- Engage clients with friendly conversation and offer emotional support.
- Assist with mobility and everyday activities.
Work Schedule
Care is delivered seven days a week between 8am and 8pm. Flexibility is offered in scheduling, with options ranging from a few hours weekly to up to 35 hours. Shifts are primarily concentrated during mornings (8am-12pm) and evenings (4pm-8pm), but mid-day availability can be accommodated on request. Employees establish a regular weekly schedule upon joining.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage between €14.15 and €16.00, based on experience and qualifications.
- Reimbursement for mileage and travel time at 48 cents per mile between client visits.
- Paid training totaling 10 hours.

Candidate Profile
- Compassionate and respectful in approach.
- Dependable and professional demeanor.
- Comfortable working independently in clients' homes with accessible team support.
- Residing in or near Gorey.
- Possess a valid driving license and own transport.
- Either hold or be willing to complete QQI qualifications in Care Skills and Care of the Elderly.
