Job description
Overview
The Head of Tracking and Control is responsible for overseeing the tracking and monitoring of all DSR Transport trucks. This role involves preparing various reports on vehicle movements and incidents, and communicating findings to management. The position ensures that company vehicles are managed efficiently and compliant with regulatory standards, contributing to operational improvements and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor all company vehicles to ensure proper tracking and operational efficiency.
- Continuously track truck locations, movement, route adherence, and optimize route efficiency.
- Design and enforce preventive maintenance schedules to enhance driver safety and minimize vehicle damage.
- Identify and escalate issues such as driver non-compliance, vehicle incidents, illicit haulage, violations related to EAT and TAT, and inappropriate driving behaviors.
- Collaborate closely with drivers and Fleet Managers to maintain seamless operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Carry out regular vehicle inspections and suggest necessary corrective measures when needed.
- Compile, review, and deliver periodic reports detailing vehicle location, speed, violations, utilization, and critical operational matters.
- Supervise fleet condition, manage accident documentation, handle intentional damage cases, and oversee vehicle maintenance and servicing procedures.
- Support other business teams and functions as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Transport Management, or related fields.
- Membership in professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is desirable.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar or related position.
Technical Expertise
- Competency in fleet monitoring and tracking across all DSR trucks.
- Expertise in maintenance scheduling for vehicle fleets.
- Comprehensive understanding of genuine vehicle parts and accessories.
- Strong knowledge of applicable traffic laws and regulations.
- Experience with software tools for vehicle tracking and scheduling applications.
