Role overview
Accor is looking for an energetic and guest-oriented Guest Service Executive to support front office operations in Visakhapatnam, India. The role focuses on creating smooth guest journeys, from arrival to departure, while upholding professional service standards and contributing to a welcoming, inclusive workplace.
Core responsibilities
- Deliver a warm and efficient welcome during check-in and check-out so guests have a smooth experience.
- Register arrivals accurately and allocate rooms in line with reservation details.
- Coordinate VIP arrivals for loyalty members, suite guests, and transfer guests, keeping records up to date.
- Prepare and share the daily VIP list with all operating departments to support coordinated service.
- Suggest nearby attractions, local activities, and dining options to enrich the guest stay.
- Protect guest privacy by handling personal and confidential information carefully and in line with policy.
- Work closely with Housekeeping to track room status throughout the day.
- Manage cashiering duties accurately while following credit and cash control procedures.
- Respond quickly and professionally to guest feedback and take ownership of service recovery.
- Create and arrange tailored VIP amenities for loyalty guests and suite guests each day.
- Monitor guest relations emails and reply in a timely, professional manner.
- Support and coach Guest Services Officers through on-the-job guidance when needed.
- Follow standard arrival and departure procedures, and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel products, facilities, and services to give accurate information.
- Escalate suspicious behavior or individuals in the lobby to Security or the Duty Manager.
- Keep all front office areas clean, organized, and presentable.
- Participate in briefings, meetings, and training sessions as scheduled by management.
- Carry out any other operational tasks assigned by management.
Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus the ability to build positive relationships with guests and coworkers.
- A service-first mindset and a genuine interest in delivering memorable guest experiences.
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment while staying calm and effective.
- Good analytical ability and a careful, detail-focused approach to work.
- Fluent English communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Previous experience in guest relations or front office operations.
- Working knowledge of hotel systems, property management software, and guest management tools.
- Confidence in cash handling and credit procedures with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience handling VIP guests and offering personalized service.
- Ability to resolve complaints and de-escalate conflicts effectively.
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to collaborate well with others.
- Empathy toward guest concerns and a commitment to inclusive service.
- Willingness to learn and adjust to changing hotel procedures and guest expectations.
