About the health centre
Robertson Health Centre is based on Robertson Barracks in Holtze, around 15 km east of Darwin. The site supports the 1st Brigade and 1st Aviation Regiment and serves a routine population of about 2,800 personnel, including a significant reserve component. In addition, the barracks accommodates around 2,500 US marines for six months each year from May to September. The centre delivers primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental, physiotherapy, and mental health services, and also operates a 22-bed low-dependency ward around the clock.
Usual operating hours are generally 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday, with weekday and weekend on-call duties shared equally.
Key duties
You will provide primary healthcare services to Defence personnel and work within an occupational medicine environment. The role includes fitness-for-duty reviews, pre- and post-deployment assessments, injury management, chronic disease care, and preventive health support. You will also work closely with a multidisciplinary team where patient wellbeing is the central focus.
Candidate profile
The successful applicant will bring unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner, along with FRACGP, FACRRM, or vocational registration. You should have at least 2 years of GP experience gained within the last 5 years in a primary care environment. A current CPR certificate (HLTAID009) is required. Australian citizenship is mandatory because the role requires Baseline Security Clearance. The position also calls for a commitment to continuing professional development and ethical, patient-focused care.
