Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and commercially aware Funeral Director to join our Co-op Funeralcare team on a 12-month fixed term contract based in Canterbury (CT1 1BU). This full-time position entails a 37.5-hour work week from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, alongside participation in an on-call rota covering Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm.
Job Duties
- Ensure client satisfaction by meeting service standards and key performance indicators.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing guidance with assistance from the wider team.
- Support funeral ceremonies, including leading the team and, when necessary, carrying the deceased respectfully.
- Refer all regulated work, such as funeral planning appointments, to certified colleagues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, clients, and local communities.
Key Requirements
- No prior industry experience required.
- Comfort and willingness to perform duties involving physical contact with the deceased, including preparation, transportation, and personal care, all conducted with dignity, respect, and adherence to health and safety protocols.
- A commercial mindset with experience in managerial roles.
- Exemplary customer service skills and dedication to providing outstanding support.
- Attention to detail and precision to ensure services accurately reflect client preferences.
- Empathy, calmness under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Valid UK manual driving license.
