About the Role

Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) seeks an enthusiastic Fundraising Specialist to be the friendly and engaging voice of our Fundraising and Philanthropy Team. Situated in Coombabah, Queensland, this pivotal position encompasses database management, donor relations, and administrative duties contributing to AWLQ’s mission of improving animal lives daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact point for supporters, responding to their inquiries via phone, email, and mail with compassion and professionalism.
• Foster strong donor relationships by managing onboarding communications, supporting regular donation programs, and assisting community fundraisers to convert everyday contributors into lifelong advocates.
• Provide administrative and correspondence support for the Gift in Wills legacy program and assist in organizing special events.
• Coordinate logistics and secure handling of community donation tins, including deployment and collection.
• Support and guide community fundraisers and third-party groups by offering resources, templates, and advice to facilitate safe and effective fundraising.
• Maintain and update fundraising databases through accurate data entry and receipting, transforming information into actionable insights.
• Collaborate dynamically with Fundraising and Marketing teams to participate in varied campaigns and initiatives.

• A confident, curious relationship-builder who enjoys engaging with people and can handle sensitive conversations with empathy.
• Experienced in roles focused on relationships such as fundraising, supporter care, customer service, or community engagement.
• Comfortable initiating conversations, speaking publicly, and creating meaningful experiences.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail, especially in CRM database management and financial processing.
• Proactive, creative, and motivated to translate ideas into action.
• Flexible and willing to occasionally work outside regular hours to represent AWLQ at community events.
