Food Counter Attendant

Role Overview

The Food Counter Attendant position at our Penticton location requires onsite presence and involves a variety of tasks essential for smooth front and back-of-house food service operations. This role does not require formal education credentials but values prior experience as beneficial. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment handling both food preparation and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Sanitize and clean items including dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs efficiently
• Load and organize buspans and trays
• Store dishes properly in designated areas
• Replenish condiments and supplies at service stations and dining areas
• Manually wash and sanitize dishes and related kitchenware
• Thoroughly clean pots and pans
• Maintain records tracking food quantities used
• Package take-out orders accurately
• Portion and wrap food items for service
• Prepare, heat, and complete simple food items
• Serve customers at the counter or buffet stations
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars with fresh products
• Take customer orders professionally
• Operate manual and electrical kitchen equipment to prepare food items
• Clean all kitchen areas including work surfaces, storage, appliances, and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely
• Receive, unpack, and organize supplies in appropriate storage locations
• Remove kitchen waste and dispose of trash
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain cleanliness
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits as needed

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: This position involves working in a fast-moving setting with physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy loads, performing repetitive motions, standing for long durations, and operating under pressure.
