Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic financial business partner to Operations, Commercial, and Project teams to enhance financial outcomes and project profitability.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, cost assessments, and scenario modeling to facilitate sound business decisions.
- Assess pricing strategies, profit margins, contractual risks, and financial impacts within commercial negotiations and processes.
- Perform profitability evaluations segmented by project, customer, equipment, business unit, and legal entity.
- Track key financial metrics such as gross profit, EBITDA, operating margins, and overall project financial health.
- Detect profit leaks, cost overruns, margin declines, and financial risk factors, recommending corrective measures accordingly.
- Analyze both direct and indirect operating expenses including equipment operation, fleet usage, personnel costs, logistics, subcontracting, yard/workshop, and administrative expenditures.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at cost optimization, efficiency enhancement, and financial performance improvement.
- Lead monthly forecasting initiatives and aid in annual budgeting as well as budget-to-actual variance analyses.
- Compile monthly management and KPI reports, financial dashboards, and insightful performance commentaries for senior leadership.
- Oversee revenue recognition, billing processes, unbilled revenue, claims, collections, and accounts receivable coordination in partnership with the Accounting department.
- Support weekly and monthly rolling cash flow forecasting efforts.
- Analyze Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), working capital effectiveness, and cash conversion cycles.
- Drive continuous enhancements in financial reporting, business analytics, ERP system use, and finance process efficiencies.
- Champion financial discipline, cost awareness, and decisions grounded in data throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering, controlling, or similar financial roles.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in sectors like heavy lifting, construction, logistics, engineering, energy, oil & gas, or project-driven industries is highly valued.
- Strong background in financial analysis, cost management, profitability assessment, and financial modeling.
- Excellent commercial insight with the capability to translate financial data into practical business strategies.
- Proven collaborative skills working with operational, commercial, and project teams.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and influencing abilities.
- Skill in influencing stakeholders without formal authority.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; familiarity with IFS software is advantageous.
- Analytical, proactive, results-focused, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Capability to prepare and deliver clear, concise, and meaningful reports to senior management.
