Role Overview

As the Field Construction Coordinator, you will be the critical link connecting planning with on-site execution. Your daily activities will involve hands-on coordination at active construction locations, ensuring subcontractors are supported, workflows are correctly sequenced, and issues are preemptively addressed to prevent delays. You will actively walk the project sites, facilitate communication between office and field teams, and assist Superintendents and Project Managers by maintaining safe and efficient progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Superintendents and Project Managers daily with field coordination tasks.
  • Manage and sequence construction activities across various trades to ensure smooth project flow.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections to assess progress, detect conflicts, and resolve potential delays proactively.
  • Organize subcontractor, vendor, inspector, and equipment logistics to maintain continuous operations.
  • Monitor installation progress in alignment with schedules and communicate potential risks promptly.
  • Confirm readiness of work areas before starting activities, checking prior work completion, access, materials, equipment, and inspections.
  • Assist with logistics for installations including modular data center components, generators, transformers, switchgear, and structural elements.
  • Coordinate utility marking, concrete pours, crane usage, inspections, testing, commissioning, and regulatory visits.
  • Maintain detailed daily reports covering photographs, workforce tracking, quantities, weather, and site events.
  • Track punch lists, field observations, requests for information, and action items until resolved.
  • Review construction drawings and field conditions to identify and address constructability or coordination issues.
  • Assist in managing project documentation such as permits, inspection logs, submittals, RFIs, and turnover files.
  • Participate in daily planning, subcontractor coordination, and weekly scheduling meetings.
  • Maintain effective communication with departments including Project Management, Safety, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Engineering, and Commissioning.
  • Help develop and standardize field coordination protocols, reporting templates, site logistics, and best practices for replication on future projects.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or mission-critical construction project support roles.
  • Hands-on onsite experience collaborating directly with Superintendents, Project Managers, or General Contractors.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing involving civil, concrete, structural steel, mechanical, electrical, underground utilities, and low-voltage systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities within a dynamic construction environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to foster productive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to thorough follow-through on tasks.
  • Comfortable spending extensive time outdoors on active job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hyperscale data center, manufacturing, utility, or mission-critical construction projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.
  • Background in coordinating heavy equipment deliveries, crane operations, or large equipment installations.
  • Exposure to commissioning activities and project closeout procedures.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical fields.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance with subsidies
  • Equity options in a growing startup
  • 401(k) plan with 4% employer match
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) options
  • Commuter benefits
  • Monthly in-person team gatherings across offices for collaboration
