Dawn Meats Group, a leading European food company specializing in premium beef and lamb products, is seeking a Fabricator to join their Engineering team at Rathdowney, County Laois. Job Description

• Perform fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of stainless steel and mild steel components.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Execute cutting, welding, grinding, and fitting tasks with a high degree of craftsmanship.
• Produce guards, platforms, pipework, supports, and other plant equipment as required.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment on site.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and site procedures to ensure safe work practices.
• Keep detailed records of work completed when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to reduce downtime and enhance plant efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workspace at all times.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a trade qualification in fabrication, metal fabrication, sheet metal work, welding, mechanical fitting, or a related field.
• Proven experience in fabrication within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or food production settings.
• Skilled in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
• Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and fault diagnosis capabilities.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
• Able to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Dedicated to maintaining high health and safety standards.

This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based onsite at Rathdowney, County Laois. The position supports Dawn Meats' ongoing mission to provide quality food products globally through efficient plant operations and engineering support.
