Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

About the Role

Join Tirlán as an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager at our Drogheda manufacturing site to significantly contribute to nurturing a safer and more sustainable workplace. You will lead efforts to foster a proactive safety culture, ensure environmental compliance, and deliver ongoing improvements that enhance employee welfare, operational performance, and sustainability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion a values-driven safety culture, inspiring site-wide engagement and promoting safe behaviors through leadership and support to supervisors and staff.
• Develop and execute the site's EHS strategy, aligning with Tirlán's corporate sustainability and business goals.
• Maintain robust EHS management systems ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
• Conduct and oversee risk assessments, driving risk reduction initiatives and adapting swiftly to regulatory changes.
• Manage environmental licensing and reporting obligations, acting as liaison with external regulatory agencies including EPA, HSA, Irish Water, and insurers.
• Coordinate audits and inspections, lead certification maintenance such as ISO 14001, and prepare regular EHS performance reports to support informed decision-making.
• Lead incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions, and promote continuous performance improvements using data and KPIs.
• Develop and implement EHS training, competency programs, occupational health, wellbeing, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant third-level degree in Environmental Management, Health & Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Science, or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within food, dairy, pharmaceutical, or other regulated sectors.
• Experience in leadership or people management is advantageous.
