Enforcement Officer (Fly-Tipping & Littering)

Role Overview

Kingdom Services Group Ltd seeks a confident Enforcement Officer to support environmental enforcement efforts in Reading Borough. The role involves addressing fly-tipping and littering through onsite monitoring, investigation, and enforcement activities. Located at Bennet Road, Reading, the position requires commitment to shifts operating Monday through Sunday from 08:30 to 16:30 on a rota basis with 40 working hours weekly.

Key Duties

• Patrolling assigned areas throughout Reading to observe and address environmental violations.
• Investigating fly-tipping incidents by collecting evidence and recording witness statements and photographic documentation.
• Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices as warranted to violators.
• Maintaining accurate reports and records of enforcement actions and related activities.
• Interacting professionally with residents, businesses, and visitors to provide guidance on environmental regulations.
• Representing the company and Reading Borough Council with professionalism in all interactions.
• Contributing to local initiatives aimed at environmental and community improvements.

Candidate Profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle various public-facing situations tactfully.
• Calm and professional approach to challenging scenarios and effective problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong investigative skills complemented by attention to detail.
• Self-reliant with sound decision-making ability.
• Competent written and verbal English communication.
• Basic IT proficiency for documenting enforcement actions.
• Prior experience in enforcement, security, investigations, or customer service roles is advantageous.
• Expertise in addressing littering and managing fly-tipping inquiry processes.
• Ownership of a vehicle and willingness to travel within the borough is mandatory.
• Possession of a Basic DBS clearance is required.

Additional Information

• Hourly remuneration at £13.45.
• Shift schedule from 08:30 to 16:30, including weekend rotations.
• Onsite presence at Bennet Road, Reading RG2 0QX is mandatory.
