Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

We are currently inviting applications for the role of Electrical Engineer at Gulf Power Group based in Doha, Qatar. We seek an experienced professional with a minimum of 4 years in the engineering or construction field to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage both design validation and execution on site, effectively bridging technical and operational aspects for successful project delivery.

Primary Duties

• Develop, assess, and revise electrical engineering drawings encompassing Power, Lighting, Low Voltage, and ELV systems, ensuring all comply with project requirements and international standards.
• Oversee on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure, verifying conformity with approved shop drawings.
• Review and approve material submittals to guarantee that all electrical elements meet quality and safety benchmarks before site integration.
• Collaborate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams—including Mechanical, Civil, and Architectural departments—to address and resolve technical conflicts on site.
• Compile and submit technical documentation such as submittals, and prepare daily and weekly progress reports for stakeholders and project management.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant practical experience in engineering or construction environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Dialux, with additional expertise in BIM/Revit or electrical load calculation software considered an asset.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, excellent communication ability, and capability to mentor junior engineers and site technicians.
• Registration with a recognized local engineering board or society is desirable.
