Role Overview
An opportunity exists for a full-time Driving Examiner on a 12-month contract located at the Townsville Customer Service Centres. Key Responsibilities
- Perform practical driving tests for applicants, ensuring adherence to Queensland Government standards and road safety regulations.
- Assess candidates’ driving abilities, understanding of road rules, and competence in handling vehicles safely under different traffic and road conditions.
- Deliver clear, constructive, and professional feedback to candidates after assessments.
- Ensure all testing processes are conducted impartially, consistently, and aligned with departmental policies.
- Promote awareness of road safety and contribute to reducing road incidents, especially involving heavy vehicles.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to facilitate efficient service delivery to the community.
Essential Requirements
- Possession of an Open Heavy Rigid (HR) class driver’s license held for at least 12 months.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various sites within the Townsville region as required, including overnight stays from one to four nights weekly; travel expenses reimbursed per guidelines.
- Holding higher licence categories such as Heavy Combination (HC) is highly preferred.
- A clean driving record without significant traffic infringements.
