Director of Volunteer Management - UAE National

Overview

The Ministry of Community Empowerment is looking for an experienced and strategic leader to helm its Volunteer Management Department. This role focuses on nurturing a sustainable national volunteer ecosystem aligned with UAE’s priorities, championing volunteerism, building cross-sector collaborations, and spearheading impactful community engagement initiatives.

Key Duties

• Develop and implement the Ministry's volunteer management strategy in accordance with national goals and organizational mission.
• Create governance models, policies, and frameworks to regulate and enhance volunteer programs throughout the UAE.
• Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with government bodies, private enterprises, NGOs, and community groups to broaden volunteer opportunities.
• Coordinate the execution of nationwide volunteer campaigns, initiatives, and community involvement programs.
• Establish and track performance indicators and conduct impact assessments to evaluate volunteer initiatives and social responsibility efforts.
• Innovate programs to attract, engage, train, and retain volunteers, fostering widespread volunteer culture.
• Lead the volunteer matching process to align individuals’ skills and community needs.
• Supervise volunteer training, capacity building, and awareness programs to enhance effectiveness and community benefits.
• Drive continuous improvement by applying best practices in volunteer management, stakeholder relations, and service delivery.
• Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, governance, resource allocation, and departmental operations.
• Lead and mentor a dedicated team, encouraging collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Human Resources, or relevant fields; Master's degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in volunteer management, community development, CSR, public sector, or social impact programs.
• Five or more years in leadership roles overseeing teams, strategic initiatives, and partnerships.
• Experience crafting policies, strategies, and scaling community or volunteer programs.
• Proven track record in developing government, private, and non-profit sector partnerships.
• Expertise in performance management, governance structures, and strategic planning.
• Working knowledge of the UAE Government or public sector is highly advantageous.
