About the Role
We are seeking a Depot Supervisor to manage the efficient handling of construction and maintenance materials, ensuring smooth depot operations and careful oversight of assets. This role encompasses maintaining and securing the depot, coordinating minor plant equipment, performing compliance inspections, and overseeing procurement, allocation, maintenance, and disposal of minor plant and tools.
You will benefit from a 9-day fortnight working arrangement, where every alternate Friday is a day off, enabling you to refresh and dedicate more time to personal interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily depot and yard activities, including managing material stock levels and scheduling minor plant and equipment allocations.
- Administer storage and booking of minor plant and machinery following operational guidelines; promptly report any inconsistencies to supervisory staff.
- Maintain depot fuel reserves and material stockpile organization to guarantee adequate supplies for the upcoming week.
- Ensure precise recording of depot inventory with proper accounting codes for charging or disposal procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Preferably possess a nationally recognized qualification in Logistics or Warehousing coupled with practical experience managing store, depot, and fleet operations.
- Candidates with substantial relevant knowledge and skills but without formal credentials are encouraged to apply.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
- Hold a HR class driver’s license or show willingness to upgrade if currently holding a lower class license.
- Demonstrated proficiency operating minor plant equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, and front-end loaders.
- Experience in minor plant upkeep and mechanical repairs.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, depot and fleet operations, and excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with software for stock management and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
