Role Overview
As a Department Second Produce, you will provide welcoming and professional customer service, fulfill all tasks within the Produce Department, and manage the department's operations in the Manager’s absence. You will actively foster employee and customer engagement, ensuring smooth department functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver customer service tailored to meet shopper needs.
- Oversee Produce Department staff during Manager’s absence.
- Encourage a coaching and development culture among employees.
- Prepare and complete customer produce orders efficiently.
- Receive and handle incoming produce shipments.
- Carry out daily produce product preparation.
- Merchandise displays to attract customers.
- Apply SMART retailing methods as specified for the Atlantic region.
- Uphold sanitation and cleanliness standards consistently.
- Follow and enforce all relevant company policies and standards.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated good work ethic and multitasking capabilities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 12 months of prior related experience.
