Role Summary
This position covers the full scope of data center management, including servers, storage, networks, virtualization, and essential building systems. Key Duties
- Manage the day-to-day functioning, reliability, and performance of the data center to support uninterrupted IT services and related infrastructure.
- Direct complete data center operations across servers, storage, networking, and virtualization platforms, while ensuring 24/7 availability and strong operating discipline.
- Oversee facility systems such as UPS units, generators, HVAC, and power distribution, and work with vendors on preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Lead incident and problem resolution during outages, restore services quickly, investigate root causes, and put preventive measures in place.
- Track and plan for capacity needs by monitoring power, cooling, space, and network usage, then recommending upgrades or expansion when required.
- Maintain physical security and compliance with governance, audit, ISO, and ITIL-related requirements.
- Build, update, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans, including backup and failover processes.
- Supervise technical staff, coordinate with internal IT teams, and manage external service providers to meet SLA commitments.
- Use monitoring tools to report on infrastructure performance, keep accurate asset records, and ensure the site remains audit-ready.
Experience and Education
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree in IT or a relevant engineering discipline is considered an advantage.
Applicants should bring 8 to 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, data center operations, or systems/network engineering, along with 3 to 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Strong hands-on exposure to large-scale data centers, enterprise server/storage/network environments, UPS/HVAC/generator/power systems, and ITIL-based incident, change, and problem management is required. Experience in 24/7 high-availability environments is essential. Exposure to AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments is a plus. Background in banking, telecom, government, or large enterprise environments is preferred.
