Job description

Overview

Olive Tree Consulting Group is seeking a Data Analyst Assistant to join their team in support of a client project based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This remote, full-time role focuses on organizing and interpreting data to enable management decisions grounded in clear evidence, rather than assumptions or memory. You will collaborate with a distributed team across multiple time zones to maintain clean, accessible project data.

About the Role

The advisory work at Olive Tree Consulting revolves around identifying patterns in organizational workflows, often revealed in data such as unresolved meeting topics or ambiguous handoffs between departments. As a Data Analyst Assistant, your responsibility will be to transform unstructured logs and feedback into straightforward reports used by consultants to advise leadership. This permanent position is ideal for someone early in their data career who wants insight into how information influences business strategy while ensuring data quality and accessibility remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and organize internal data obtained from client surveys and interviews to ensure usability for advisors.
  • Create simple visualizations including charts and tables highlighting management bottlenecks.
  • Maintain detailed written records of project insights to preserve client history.
  • Track progress on implemented structural changes with the Jeddah-based client.
  • Review datasets to detect errors or inconsistencies prior to sharing with senior advisors.
  • Summarize weekly trends in team productivity and decision-making into clear, jargon-free notes.
  • Develop searchable data logs to reduce dependence on individual memory for information retrieval.
  • Participate in remote team meetings to align data findings with client session observations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • A genuine curiosity for understanding business functions and causes of project delays.
  • Proficiency and comfort using spreadsheets and basic databases for extended periods.
  • Clear, concise writing style free of jargon, focused on direct communication.
  • Exceptional attention to detail when analyzing extensive numerical or textual data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently in a remote environment.
  • Patience in managing and cleaning imperfect data sets.
  • Openness to learning Olive Tree Consulting’s practical advisory methodology.
  • Preference for focused, quiet work settings rather than dynamic office atmospheres.

Additional Helpful Background

  • Basic knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including simple formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience or strong willingness to learn fundamental data visualization techniques.
  • Academic background in analytical disciplines such as economics, mathematics, or social sciences.
  • Prior experience organizing information into clear summaries for school or part-time projects.
  • Basic understanding or interest in business operations and management theories.
  • Experience using digital collaboration tools to maintain communication within remote teams.

What We Offer

This role is fully remote, allowing flexibility in work location to suit your lifestyle. We prioritize productive, low-interruption work environments with minimal internal meetings focused on completing meaningful tasks. You will gain exposure to high-level advisory work for a notable client in Jeddah, laying a solid foundation for a data or consulting career. The position is paid competitively for entry-level analytical roles and emphasizes a culture of clarity, honesty, and practical outcomes over corporate formality.
