Job Overview
We are seeking a proficient Cyber Security Analyst to join our expanding security team in Munich, Germany. The successful candidate will play a critical role in defending our organization's digital infrastructure by monitoring potential threats, analyzing weaknesses, responding to incidents, and helping implement robust security measures. This position requires close collaboration with IT and business units to enhance overall security posture and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee security notifications, logs, and incidents utilizing Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
- Identify, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity breaches and threats.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, risk evaluations, and security audits.
- Assist with the development and upkeep of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage security tools including firewalls, endpoint protection, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Support security audits, coordinate penetration testing, and ensure compliance standards are met.
- Work alongside IT departments to address and fix security vulnerabilities.
- Document incidents, maintain security reports, and keep technical records current.
- Keep up-to-date with latest cyber threats, attack vectors, and security best practices.
- Engage in training and awareness programs to promote cybersecurity knowledge within the organization.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines, or practical equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in cybersecurity or IT security is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Fundamental knowledge of network, cloud, operating systems security, and general cybersecurity principles.
- Familiar with SIEM platforms, endpoint detection and response (EDR), IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and firewall technologies.
- Awareness of security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, or GDPR compliance is a plus.
- Basic programming skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash are beneficial.
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and incident handling skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security, Cisco CyberOps, or CEH are favorable but not required.
- Proficient English language skills are required; knowledge of German is advantageous but not essential.
