Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver in Broughton, Chester, where you'll be the face of Tesco on the road, visiting customers at their homes daily. This role extends beyond just driving; it involves offering exceptional service and assistance with a friendly demeanor. It is a hands-on and dynamic job with no two days alike. While much of the time is spent working independently, support from managers and teammates at the base is always available.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Monday: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your vehicle, trays, and work area to ensure customers receive their orders in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery van safely and conduct all necessary checks to guarantee its roadworthiness and reliability.
• Communicate any order changes, substitutions, or short-dated products clearly and courteously to customers, processing refunds when required to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle all items with care, treating each order as your own to sustain quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within customers’ allotted time frames while providing warm and genuine service at the doorstep.

Candidate Requirements

• Capable of fostering strong relationships with colleagues to build team spirit and deliver excellent service.
• Friendly and approachable with both customers and coworkers.
• Adaptable to respond promptly to changing customer needs and embrace change both on the road and in-store.
• Possession of a valid full UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) with at least 12 months of driving experience and a maximum of three penalty points.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay rate at £14.18 per hour; £15.45 per hour in locations within the M25. Some areas may provide additional supplements.
• Guaranteed minimum work hours of 16 per week, with options for roles starting from 12 hours weekly.
• Holiday entitlement begins at 20 days plus an additional personal day, increasing to 22 days after one year, alongside bank holidays.
