Crewing Officer

About the Role

Cyan Sentinel Ltd, a reputable operator of offshore support vessels, is seeking a skilled Crewing Officer. This critical position involves organising and managing the maritime workforce to ensure all vessels are staffed with qualified personnel while maintaining compliance with relevant maritime standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage workforce planning and coordinate crew changes both in the UK and internationally, including arrangements for flights, visas, accommodation, and logistics to guarantee vessels remain fully staffed and operational.
• Oversee the monitoring of crew certifications, medicals, visas, ensuring compliance with STCW, MLC, flag state requirements and client specifications before mobilisation.
• Identify crew training needs and arrange appropriate training to maintain compliance.
• Administer the complete employee lifecycle: recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, mobilisation, record keeping using the Crew Management System, and support staff development and retention efforts.
• Assist with internal and external audits, vessel inspections, and compliance checks as required by clients.
• Provide HR support including payroll administration duties.
• Maintain budget control across all crewing activities.

Requirements

• At least three years of crewing experience within the maritime industry, preferably with ERRVs, PSVs, or AHTS vessels.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, STCW, MLC and OPITO regulations.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize workload and take ownership of tasks.

Additional Information

This is a hybrid role based in Aberdeen, Scotland, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with full five-day office attendance during training. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
