Creative Media Specialist

About the Role

Hargrave Military Academy seeks a dynamic and imaginative Creative Media Specialist devoted to narrating our institution's story through captivating content. This role thrives on engagement with athletics and student life, focusing on producing professional media that vividly represents campus vibrancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce promotional videos highlighting athletics, academic programs, cadet life, admissions, and special campus events.
• Capture professional-grade photography at athletic competitions, ceremonies, classroom activities, and other student events.
• Design compelling graphics for social media, recruiting, athletics, advancement, admissions, and marketing purposes.
• Oversee and expand the academy's social media presence with innovative and regular content tailored for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Create reels, highlight videos, promotional campaigns, and short-form digital content optimized for social media engagement.
• Collaborate closely with Athletics, Admissions, Advancement, and Academic departments to effectively communicate Hargrave's story.
• Support live event coverage, conduct interviews, and assist special production projects.
• Maintain a well-organized digital media archive to ensure easy access and control over visual assets.
• Contribute to strengthening and consistently applying Hargrave's visual brand identity across all communication channels.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in videography and video post-production editing.
• Strong skills in professional photography.
• Expertise in graphic design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent tools.
• Competence in managing social media accounts for organizations, schools, businesses, or sports programs.
• Excellent storytelling acumen through digital media formats.
• Ability to operate independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
• Robust organizational aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
• Availability for evening and weekend work during athletic events and other significant campus activities.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Adobe Premiere Pro proficiency.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom.
• Knowledge of After Effects preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with Canva Pro.
• Certification or willingness to acquire certification in drone photography/videography.
• Background in sports photography or athletic media highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 annually, with placement depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Hargrave offers a comprehensive benefits package and the chance to work within a purpose-driven educational environment.
