Role Purpose

  • Serve as a key member of a multi-disciplinary project team representing AESG by performing site inspections and verifying accuracy of testing outcomes.
  • Deliver commissioning services that meet the high standards expected by AESG's client base.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:
    • Degree in MEP or Building Services Engineering, including but not limited to BSc Mechanical Engineering, BSc Electrical Engineering, or BSc Building Services Engineering.
    • College diploma in MEP or Building Services Engineering such as HNC, HND or equivalents.
    • College certificate in MEP or Building Services Engineering like ONC, OND or equivalents, or trade experience combined with City & Guilds certification.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum five years of relevant experience with an engineering degree.
    • At least six years if holding a college diploma.
    • Minimum seven years if possessing a college certificate or trade certification.
  • Industry Certifications: Incorporated Engineer status is preferred but not mandatory. CSA Grade 4 qualification and commissioning certifications such as BCA, ACG, or NEBB are advantageous but not essential.
  • Competence: Demonstrated advanced skills and significant experience, capable of handling complex tasks independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent site inspections within the designated discipline.
  • Review project designs, tolerances, and agreed working methods.
  • Evaluate testing procedures and results to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant industry standards.
  • Support documentation review to verify adherence to project specs and codes of practice.
  • Report findings clearly and precisely to senior team members.
  • Maintain professional liaison with contractors’ commissioning teams.
  • Perform onsite quality installation observations.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including detailed site observation reports.
  • Engage in meetings and workshops as needed.
  • Oversee installation progress, submittals, and use of engineering tools following project and commissioning protocols.
  • Monitor task completion, preparing project lookaheads and milestone trackers.
  • Maintain daily logs recording activities, inspections, document reviews, and site authority decisions.
