About the Role
Join FedEx Australia as a Customs Broker responsible for overseeing comprehensive customs clearance processes. This role demands high compliance standards, precise operations, and excellent client service. You will work in close partnership with clients, internal operations, and government bodies to ensure smooth import and export transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit import and export declarations, overseeing customs entries from inception to completion
- Ensure precise tariff classification, valuation, and application of Australian customs, quarantine regulations, and related requirements
- Gather, examine, and interpret shipping and customs documentation to verify accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Offer consultative guidance on optimizing duties, tariff concessions, and duty drawback programs
- Coordinate with clients, freight and transport teams, alongside government agencies
- Manage multiple shipments efficiently under tight deadlines within a dynamic environment
Qualifications and Experience
- Mandatory licensure as a Customs Broker
- Demonstrated experience handling import/export customs clearance operations
- Thorough understanding of Australian customs laws, tariff classifications, and valuation principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities
- Collaborative approach working across customs, freight forwarding, and transport departments
