Role Overview
We are looking for a vigilant and professional CCTV Operator to ensure the safety and security of our school community. This role involves continuous surveillance, responding to incidents, recording and reporting security matters, and supporting emergency procedures. The operator will work closely with Facilities, Security, Health & Safety teams, and senior leadership to manage CCTV systems efficiently while observing strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor CCTV systems to safeguard students, staff, visitors, and school property.
- Identify and swiftly report suspicious activities, security breaches, and hazards.
- React promptly to alarms and emergency situations in alignment with school policies.
- Coordinate actions with security personnel, Facilities Management, and emergency responders as needed.
- Perform regular system checks to ensure CCTV equipment functionality and report issues for repair.
- Maintain heightened vigilance during school events, arrivals, departures, exams, and other critical periods.
- Document all security incidents, observations, and responses accurately within reporting systems.
- Retrieve and handle CCTV footage securely to support investigations, safeguarding, disciplinary actions, insurance claims, and legal needs.
- Collaborate in investigations by providing precise reports and relevant footage.
- Report significant incidents immediately to the Operations Manager and senior leaders.
- Manage CCTV system performance, liaising with contractors on maintenance and repairs.
- Support periodic testing and ensure compliance with operational and data retention standards.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for CCTV footage and security data.
- Operate in full compliance with UAE laws, school policies, safeguarding measures, and data protection regulations.
- Assist in emergency evacuations and business continuity through effective security monitoring.
- Support access control monitoring and provide emergency assistance to authorized staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve security procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a CCTV Operator or equivalent security qualification preferred.
- Possession or eligibility for a valid UAE Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) CCTV Operator Licence is highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of experience operating CCTV systems in environments such as schools, commercial, hospitality, or healthcare sectors.
- Familiarity with digital surveillance, access control systems, and security management software.
- Knowledge of relevant CCTV regulations, security protocols, and data confidentiality principles.
- Experience handling emergency responses and documenting incidents effectively.
