Job Purpose
The role is central to delivering outstanding customer service at our fuel stations. The individual will be responsible for managing transactions with precision, including cash and card payments, while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for customers. The primary objective is to enhance efficiency and contribute to the overall success of station operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process receipts such as paying-in slips and cheques linked to customer accounts
- Make daily bank deposits of collected receipts
- Resolve accounts receivable inquiries promptly
- Monitor bank statements and account balances daily, both physical and electronic
- Control daily paying-in slips and ensure accurate accounting entries in customer accounts
- Follow up on bounced checks and drafts, notifying relevant businesses in a timely manner
- Maintain proper filing of cash vouchers
- Accurately handle cash, credit card, and debit card transactions
- Keep a balanced cash drawer and report any discrepancies immediately
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers courteously and addressing their questions professionally
- Manage customer complaints patiently and professionally, ensuring swift resolution
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash and card sales
- Adhere to security and operational procedures to minimize fraud and theft risks
- Assist with promotional campaigns and sales efforts at the station
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in finance, economics, or qualified accounting certification
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is advantageous
- Proficient numerical and mathematical abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to multitask effectively in fast-paced settings
- Familiarity with point of sale (POS) systems and cash handling protocols
- Flexibility to work during weekends and public holidays
