Overview
The Cargo Revenue Optimization Executive is responsible for exceeding cargo revenue goals by optimizing cargo mix, enhancing yield, and improving load factors while leveraging the airline's network. This role supports revenue growth for assigned hubs by collaborating closely with the Cargo Commercial team. The position ensures optimal capacity utilization and prioritizes cargo appropriately through load planning while maintaining high service standards aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cargo capacity optimization across the airline’s hub network, including planning daily cargo, courier, special, and interline shipments. Monitor and analyze passenger loads and pre-booked baggage through Passenger Service System (PSS) and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Surpass cargo revenue targets on assigned routes by controlling capacity and managing yield through commodity mix optimization.
- Monitor competitor airline pricing in coordination with cargo sales teams, plan pricing adjustments in short- and long-term frameworks, and update cargo systems accordingly.
- Ensure all forward booking requests are submitted, approved, and tracked via cargo reservation systems to prevent un-booked shipments.
- Analyze trends in cargo commodity mix and yields to assist in pricing decisions.
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports on trends, tonnage, and revenue.
- Track and follow up shipment requests by cargo sales, GSA, and CSA to maximize cargo capacity use.
- Oversee intra-UAE trucking logistics to support cargo and VAL shipments for corporate customers.
- Act as liaison with Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) at hubs and network stations to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) compliance and address any backlogs.
- Manage VAL boxes, seals, and pallets at hubs and other stations.
- Monitor timely triggering of pre- and post-flight messages by GHAs to avoid authority penalties.
- Report system issues and collaborate with internal and external IT teams for resolutions and improvements.
- Ensure strict compliance with Air Arabia’s policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager; note that responsibilities may evolve over time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; a background in management is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in cargo revenue management and/or sales, with at least 3 years in a similar role within the airline industry—experience in narrow-body or low-cost carriers is a plus.
