Job description
Position Overview
This role supports management by supervising daily sorting, delivery, and pickup activities as well as managing operations at remote domiciles or feeder locations when applicable. The incumbent leads the assigned sector by implementing best practices, ensuring efficient operations, and serving as a mentor and role model for hourly workers through strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily sorting, delivery, and pickup processes.
- Manage remote domicile or feeder operation locations if applicable.
- Lead the sector assigned by setting operational standards and following best practices.
- Act as a mentor and demonstrate leadership behaviors to hourly employees.
- Communicate effectively and resolve conflicts within the team.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- At least one year of current Courier experience required.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record is essential.
- Must complete and maintain all basic and recurrent training, including Dangerous Goods (DG) specialist certification, with annual recertification before expiry.
- Keep current with training on best practices and defensive driving/process updates.
- Good familiarity with FedEx products, services, and general operations.
- Physical ability to lift 70 pounds and maneuver packages up to 150 pounds using proper equipment.
- Some knowledge of Federal Express operations and Canadian customs regulations is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills; ability to motivate and train colleagues on the job.
- Excellent prioritization and delegation skills to manage tasks within time-sensitive environments.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and team collaboration abilities.
Additional Information
The job posting is valid from October 4, 2025, through August 17, 2026, at 3 PM local time. This is a general job description and is not exhaustive; employees are expected to perform other duties as assigned, meet minimum requirements for tests and training, work within Windows environments, and maintain annual accreditations if applicable. Work shifts may vary as per operational needs. Candidates located in Quebec must be bilingual in French and English.
Candidates applying for positions requiring driving as a core skill must have a valid driver’s license class (5, G, or 1[AZ]) and a driving record with no more than two infractions or accidents in the last 24 months. Assessment criteria include annual driving records, interview performance, and results from driving evaluations conducted.
