Role Overview

This full-time position, based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, involves designing dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, and various prosthetics using CAD/CAM systems. Responsibilities include processing digital impressions, developing restoration designs per clinical instructions, and preparing files for production via milling or 3D printing. Collaboration with dental technicians and clinicians is essential to ensure accurate fit, functionality, and appearance, alongside maintaining quality control and comprehensive documentation. The role requires upkeep of software and hardware settings, adherence to laboratory protocols, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in CAD/CAM dental design software like Exocad, 3Shape, or equivalent with sound knowledge of digital laboratory workflows.
• In-depth understanding of dental anatomy, occlusion, and restorative principles relevant to prosthetic designs.
• Strong ability to interpret dental prescriptions, digital scans, and technical guidelines with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills for managing digital files, using lab management software, and resolving basic technical issues.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills for constructive collaboration with dental technicians and clinicians.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills for handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Experience within dental laboratories or digital dentistry environments is preferred; formal education or certification in dental technology or related fields is advantageous.
