Job description

Overview

This role is for a Business Leads Analyst focusing on Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), located onsite in Doha, Qatar, on a one-year contract. The position demands over 7 years of experience and involves spearheading the design and execution of a comprehensive and transparent FTP framework bank-wide. The goal is to align FTP principles with business strategy, balance sheet management, risk tolerance, and the evaluation of performance, transitioning from a treasury-focused pricing model to a business-driven profitability and loss (P&L) framework.

Key Duties

  • Lead the formulation and institution of a unified FTP framework that ensures consistency across all products, geographies, and business sectors.
  • Revamp methodologies involving funding and liquidity pricing, ensuring they accurately represent funding curves, liquidity premiums, costs of optionality, behavioral insights, capital allocations, and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Enhance governance by defining clear boundaries and accountability between Treasury and Global Markets, including margin allocation and profitability attribution.
  • Shift profitability measurement models towards business-line ownership to improve transparency and embed FTP and balance sheet cost awareness into daily decision-making.
  • Integrate FTP approaches with RAROC and capital allocation processes, recommending improvements to optimize risk-adjusted returns and balance sheet efficiency.
  • Collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders including Treasury, Finance, Risk, Global Markets, and business banking sectors to secure alignment and present strategic recommendations to senior executives.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 12 years of professional banking experience within treasury, ALM, FTP, finance, risk management, or treasury transformation.
  • In-depth knowledge in FTP methodologies, asset and liability management, liquidity control, profitability frameworks, and balance sheet optimization.
  • Track record of leading large-scale transformations related to Treasury and Finance functions.
  • Expertise in regulatory requirements and advanced pricing methodologies.
  • Proficient in Arabic and English with strong communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Mandatory residency in Qatar.

Additional Role: Business Analyst Support

The Business Analyst role supports the implementation of the FTP transformation strategy through detailed analysis and methodical review of pricing frameworks, profitability evaluations, and operating models. The analyst works closely with Treasury, Finance, Risk, Global Markets, and Technology teams to develop an enhanced FTP operating model, ensuring risk-adjusted performance management.

Responsibilities of Business Analyst

  • Evaluate current FTP pricing methodologies and profitability allocation, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct detailed profitability analytics using RAROC-based metrics and assess impacts of FTP changes.
  • Assist in redesigning models for funding curves, liquidity pricing, behavioral assumptions, and margin allocation.
  • Document business and functional requirements essential for FTP enhancements.
  • Support governance structure definitions and facilitate stakeholder engagement and workshops.
  • Collaborate with technology teams for data integration, system updates, and manage change initiatives.
  • Prepare dashboards and reports to monitor FTP and profitability performance, providing insights for decision-making.

Expectations for Business Analyst

  • 7 to 10 years of experience within banking focused on treasury, finance, ALM, FTP, risk analytics, business analysis, or performance management roles.
  • Knowledge of FTP processes, profitability and capital management frameworks, with strong analytic and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficient in Arabic and English and comfortable working onsite in Qatar.

Special Requirements

Fluency in both Arabic and English languages is a mandatory requirement for both roles. Candidates must be based in Qatar to undertake these onsite positions.
