Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager at Temu in Japan, you will play a crucial role in building and nurturing partnerships with merchandise partners, manufacturers, and brands to enhance category selections that align with our business goals and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively seek and establish strategic collaborations with local suppliers and brands to enrich our product offerings.
- Support merchandise partners in onboarding and expanding their presence on the platform through development of market positioning, product planning, branding, and operational strategies.
- Initiate innovative projects based on category insights by integrating resources and guiding merchants.
- Perform comprehensive industry analysis, interpret market data to identify customer needs, and adjust strategies to stay aligned with market trends.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of five years proven experience in operations, including roles in brand management or platform operational functions.
- Established networks and strong relationships within local seller and vendor ecosystems are advantageous.
- Proficient in data analytics to assess industry trends, manage projects effectively, and draw actionable conclusions.
- Capabilities in market research and innovative marketing to direct merchant marketing initiatives effectively.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude, self-led motivation, strategic thinking, and adaptability to fast-changing environments.
- Resilience under pressure and efficient logistics management during peak demand periods.
