About the Role
Aon is dedicated to improving decision-making to protect and enhance lives worldwide. The Business Development Manager role involves closely collaborating with the Head of Growth and DAU to craft and execute a strategic sales pipeline. This role focuses on cultivating and sustaining strategic relationships within New Zealand's corporate and commercial sectors, specifically engaging with C-suite executives, Boards, Directors, and other key decision makers. The manager will assess client needs and coordinate with growth operations and client experience teams to position Aon as the preferred insurance partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with Aon’s goals, focusing on growth and client satisfaction, alongside senior leadership teams.
- Research and analyze emerging markets and client requirements.
- Establish and maintain strong connections within senior NZ and APAC business communities to identify business opportunities.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Aon’s products and industry insights to anticipate client objectives and promote offerings effectively.
- Deliver market intelligence and prospect insights to leadership for strategic planning.
- Collaborate with Aon Connect teams locally and globally to upkeep an accurate prospect database.
- Partner with bid management and client experience teams to produce client-centric documents and presentations.
- Apply best practices in sales enablement to guide prospects through comprehensive evaluation and delivery processes.
- Champion Aon Connect and DAU initiatives, supporting the execution of the 3x3 strategic plan.
- Utilize data-driven insights to nurture sales pipelines and support informed decisions.
- Work alongside client servicing teams to furnish presentation and analytical support for clients and prospects.
- Lead change management efforts in implementing new operational approaches within a growth-focused environment.
- Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring workplace risks are managed and incidents addressed promptly.
- Encourage risk management practices that ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards and promote excellent client outcomes.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team, aligning colleagues with organizational purpose and performance metrics.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging work environment, supporting employee empowerment and proactive engagement.
- Maintain succession plans and talent pipelines for the retail channel, supported by robust performance management.
- Act as a member of the general management leadership team, promoting collaboration, accountability, and unity.
- Drive delivery of Aon’s corporate strategy and brand values, serving as a brand ambassador to external stakeholders.
