Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Building Operator, the Building Cleaner will execute a variety of daily cleaning duties to maintain the sanitation and upkeep of the facility. The role requires working 8-hour shifts during standard operating hours, with occasional weekend availability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean equipment surfaces, fixtures, desks in boardrooms, and kitchen areas while sanitizing frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, appliances, and faucet controls.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the building.
- Restock supplies for occupants, including toiletries, paper towels, soaps, cleaning products, and coffee machine supplies.
- Wash interior windows, walls, and ceilings regularly.
- Dust all surfaces throughout the premises.
- Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of washrooms, including mirrors, sinks, fixtures, and handles.
- Dispose of garbage, debris, and recycling by emptying all waste containers and maintaining cleanliness.
- Ensure cafeteria and kitchen areas are clean and orderly.
- Load waste compactors, recycling, and wood bins as necessary.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- WHMIS and MSDC certifications are beneficial but not mandatory.
- Preferably possess at least two years of experience cleaning office, manufacturing, or warehouse settings.
- Able to follow detailed instructions, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and proactively seek solutions.

- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing tasks involving bending and crouching.
- Self-driven, able to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Competent in handling commercial cleaning machinery such as power washers and step stools.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and wearing safety shoes during shifts.
- Capable of standing for entire shifts and managing timely, efficient work practices.
- Experienced in using chemical cleaning solutions safely.
- Able to comprehend and communicate basic English, particularly for health and safety instructions.
