Role Overview
Bring your curiosity and commitment to positively influence the future of transportation by joining GHD as a Bridge Inspector within the Western Australia Bridges Business Group. Based in Perth, you will support a wide variety of clients across Western Australia as part of a globally connected team of specialists tackling complex transport challenges. This role provides a rare chance for those with a technical officer or engineering background to engage in structural inspection and asset management, supported by expert mentoring, structured training, and exposure to diverse assets.
Key Duties
- Perform bridge inspections using visual, non-destructive, and intrusive techniques.
- Detect defects and gather condition and inventory data according to established inspection standards.
- Prepare and deliver inspection reports within agreed budget and timelines.
- Contribute to the implementation and upkeep of safety management systems.
- Operate access platforms such as elevated work platforms when necessary.
- Support project management tasks including planning, developing inspection methodologies, and managing subcontractors.
Candidate Profile
- Possess an engineering degree or advanced diploma with relevant experience in bridge or structural inspections and asset management.
- Preference given to candidates with Main Roads WA Level 2 inspector accreditation or ARRB Level 2 training, though not mandatory.
- Familiarity with asset inspection techniques as well as strong reporting and communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health standards.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team across diverse environments, from remote locations to an office setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Western Australia C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Construction White Card certification.
- Willingness to undergo a Railway Category 3 Medical, to be discussed during the interview process.
