Assembly Technician

Overview

We are seeking a diligent Assembly Technician to join our team in Scarborough, Ontario. This role involves performing technical and mechanical tasks such as grinding, chemical cleaning, and various process treatments while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. You will be working in a team-oriented production environment requiring precision, accountability, and continuous improvement participation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute technical and mechanical operations including grinding, chemical cleaning, and process treatments.
• Perform production and service tasks safely under controlled conditions.
• Organize and maintain accountability and traceability of work activities.
• Monitor and control critical quality items throughout processes.
• Engage actively in continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and Total Productive Maintenance.
• Work autonomously or collaboratively within the production team.
• Maintain thorough documentation and traceability of completed work.
• Follow company procedures diligently to carry out production tasks safely.
• Interpret blueprints and adhere to documented work instructions.

Additional Duties

• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and wear necessary personal protective equipment.
• Keep the work space clean and organized following 5S guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma minimum.
• Technical diploma preferred.
• Between 1 to 2 years of experience in assembling small components or hardware installation in a manufacturing setting.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

• The role involves repetitive assembly tasks and sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing 10 to 30 pounds.
• Frequent periods of standing or sitting during work.
• Exposure to shop floor conditions including chemicals, cleaning agents, potential slip or trip hazards, and repetitive motion.
