Role Overview

The Application Engineer specializing in DX & VRV is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of technically robust, optimized, and commercially viable HVAC solutions within Daikin's sales operations. This role covers equipment selection, system design validation, technical compliance, and full project lifecycle application engineering support. Collaboration with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and other internal teams is essential to meet customer requirements, local regulations, and Daikin standards, driving successful project completion and growing business within Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Sales teams by providing application engineering assistance from initial inquiry through to order confirmation.
• Design, size, and choose DX, VRV, and AHU equipment utilizing Daikin selection software and other approved engineering tools.
• Analyze project specifications, tender documents, and HVAC drawings to develop compliant and optimized technical solutions.
• Validate equipment selections ensuring technical feasibility, energy efficiency, and adherence to Daikin engineering standards.
• Prepare detailed technical submittals, equipment schedules, selection reports, and other necessary engineering documentation for proposals.
• Recommend value engineering options and alternative solutions to enhance performance and competitiveness.
• Liaise with Product Management, Sales, Factory Engineering, and other departments to resolve technical queries and provide prompt project support.
• Contribute to quotation preparations through precise technical selections, calculations, and cost inputs.
• Participate in technical meetings with consultants, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to present solutions and clarify design requirements.
• Keep updated on HVAC technologies, local codes, industry standards, and Daikin product developments to ensure top-tier application support.
• Facilitate smooth technical transition to execution teams following order confirmation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC Application Engineering, Technical Support, or System Design, with strong proficiency in DX and VRV systems, preferably in Qatar or the GCC region.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC design principles, equipment selection, psychometrics, heat load calculations, and energy efficiency.
• Proficiency with HVAC design and selection software including VRV selection tools, AutoCAD, AHU selection software, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong familiarity with MEP drawings, HVAC design standards, tender documentation, and consultant expectations.
• Demonstrated capability to support multiple sales channels with technical solutions, value engineering, and proposal preparation.
• Ability to critically assess project requirements, identify risks, and suggest practical engineering measures.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of fostering relationships with consultants, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Strong organizational skills to manage several projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent English; Arabic language skills are considered an advantage.
• Awareness of international HVAC standards (ASHRAE, AHRI) and local regulations such as Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) is desirable.
