Job description
Role Overview
We are urgently seeking an Appliance Repair Technician dedicated to maintaining and restoring major home appliances to optimal functionality. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of appliances including ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and refrigerators, while ensuring stellar customer service and satisfaction.
Work Schedule
- Standard hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Ability to work on Saturdays as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise and timely diagnostics and determine necessary parts by consulting manuals, schematics, and online resources
- Aim to complete repairs predominantly without the replacement of parts
- Collaborate closely with the Parts Team to secure necessary components, swap defective parts, and manage returns
- Accurately complete and maintain all documentation, service records, and system data promptly and systematically
- Deliver superior quality repairs ensuring a high first-time fix rate and minimal errors or delays
- Uphold professional and exceptional customer service standards in every interaction
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience considered
- Possession of an Appliance Repair Diploma from an accredited technical institute is advantageous
- Certification in gas handling and experience with gas appliance repairs are value adds
- At least two years' hands-on experience repairing and diagnosing major appliances
- Strong expertise in appliance repair and troubleshooting techniques
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and customer engagement
- Proficiency in computer usage with meticulous attention to detail for accurate documentation
